For ten years, now, I’ve been writing songs and playing music for anyone with an open heart to listen. It’s a path with quite a few stumbling blocks, but every now and then, you are able to join in with something truly great.

About two years ago, I helped start a band [Philos] with my closest friends from college; Kenny Foster and Vince Romanelli. With little more than a few rehearsed stage antics and songs we threw together while playing Halo the night before, we drew 150 people to our first show. Without knowing it, we had something people connected to. Today, we’ve found a face for that message, and it’s “Defying Gravity.”

“Defying Gravity” is a song by Grammy award winning writer Stephen Schwartz from his fun and moving musical “Wicked.” It defines that time where everything makes sense; where the fabric of life opens up and you can see all the way through it to the end result.  It’s a song that, to me, has so much meaning, especially in the world and national political climate today, and in my life personally.  All of us in Philos were so moved by the song that we recorded our own version, which since, has even earned a stamp of approval from Stephen Schwartz himself.

What Does This Mean For You?

We recently released our single of “Defying Gravity” onto iTunes and it’s begun to take on a life of its’ own. I invite you to take a listen and let it speak to you as well. Whether you decide to buy the track on iTunes, become a Fan of our band below, or merely take a listen to the song, your effort is personally appreciated.

If the song speaks to you as it did to us, you can click through to the Facebook or Myspace page and click “Share Philos” to receive a free MP3 of an acoustic track as our way of saying “Thanks!” for spreading the word.

Thanks, and happy listening.
