House Show Video from Beavercreek, OH:

History Train

My calendar for 2012 has been booking up with House Shows like this one and I couldn’t be more excited for them.  The intimate approach and close proximity to the audience really lets us get into the gritty details of all the songs, and the relationships I’ve started to build through them have be unmatched.  I like to think I’m slowly taking over the world, 20 people at a time.

Check out Kenny Foster and I above from the latest House Show we did in Beavercreek, OH.  I have a few others from this show I may post here too [something about a city in New England?.. hint hint]

Interested in hosting a House Show of your own? You should be! They’re Awesome and So Easy to do.  Click on over to this page for more info and to get in contact with me!

Leave The Ground - House Show Video

For those of you in Indiana and Ohio, you may get to see something quite similar to the video above this weekend, if you’ve RSVP’d to one of these shows!  But, for those of you who can’t make it out, Kenny and I have begun our House Show bonanza!… and this video is from the first one at DJ Phillips’ house in Nashville, TN.

Enjoy, and hope to see you at a show soon!

“Collateral” by Michael Shoup
My first Song-A-Week!  Submit Ideas!
http://blog.michaelshoup.com/submit

Welcome to the first Episode of my Song-A-Week!

This weeks submission was inspired by a number of people’s ideas, so thanks to “begreeted”, “gremlar” and “annct” for submitting and helping me coming up with this one.

I hope you enjoy “Collateral” and stick around for what comes up next week.  Lyrics below.

COLLATERAL

I’ve got memories of this town
From back when you were still around
The friends that I lost
And the missteps that cost me my pride

I may not be a perfect man
But at least I know who I am
With all this tossing and turning
From yesteryear’s learning inside

CHORUS:
I’ve got Collateral Damage
So much more than I can manage
Heart at the Helm
But I keep washing over the side
I don’t know what the plan is
Just trying to find where my dry land is
All open ended
Except this unintended
Collateral Damage
From living my life

My heart keeps looking like a travelogue
Every time I start singing songs
But all this rocking and rolling
Helps me keep knowing I’m alive

I can’t stay still
This lack of motion keeps making me ill
It’s something I gotta get through
This life I woke up into is mine.

CHOURUS x2
